By using PrivacyScrubber ("the Service") at privacyscrubber.com, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please stop using the Service.

2. Description of Service

PrivacyScrubber is a browser-based tool that helps users redact Personally Identifiable Information (PII) from text and documents before sharing with AI systems. All processing occurs locally in the user's browser. No data is transmitted to our servers.

3. Free Tier & PRO License

  • Free: Text paste, single file upload (.txt, .docx), reverse scrub — available to all users at no cost.
  • PRO ($9.99 one-time): Batch file processing and custom redaction rules. The PRO license is a one-time purchase with no subscription or recurring fees.
  • PRO features are unlocked in the browser session following payment. As a locally-processed tool, PRO status is session-based and reset on page reload. Users are responsible for completing their workflow within a session.

4. Refund Policy

Due to the digital and session-based nature of PRO access, all sales are final. If you experience a technical issue with payment, please contact support@privacyscrubber.com within 7 days.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You may not:

  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, copy, or redistribute the Service
  • Use the Service to facilitate illegal data processing
  • Misrepresent the output as having been reviewed by a legal or compliance professional

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. PrivacyScrubber does not guarantee that its regex engine will detect 100% of PII in all possible formats. Always verify scrubbed output before sharing sensitive content. This tool is not a substitute for professional legal or compliance review.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PrivacyScrubber shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use or inability to use the Service.

8. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by applicable international law. Disputes shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation before any formal proceedings.
